Visitors To Your Garden

visitors to the garden

All as one they seem to come,
Or sometimes only one by one,
Many creatures you can find,
Rarely only one of a kind.

A pretty place to chirp and flit,
As they find a place to sit.
A place to take a needy rest,
Or to have a pollen fest,

Many lizards scurry and scout,
Not liking guests that's no doubt.
Stopping for a morsel or two,
Not ever taking time to chew,

Insects come then disappear,
When the ugly toad comes near.
Tongues so long and sticky too,
Bulging eyes say,"I'll get you".

Nasty heads that poke about,
Between the plants and bushes stout,
A wary snake winds his way,
Knowing that he can not stay.

Squirrels call to stay a bit,
Gnawing on a nutty pit,
Armadillos come to pass as well,
Waiting till night has fell.

They creep along in single file,
Each a copy of each others style,
Then comes time the day is done,
We no longer see an evening sun.

Time to wait for morning dew,
When gardens begin to grow anew,
In the new day they again arrive,
Another day to grow and thrive.
